Amityville's Price hopes for happy ending at UConn
Do you believe in happy endings? A.J. Price does.
He has to. He has to believe that everything he has gone through since leaving Amityville High has been for a reason. He has to believe that all the pain he has endured over the past four years -- some of it self-inflicted, some of it not -- has made him into a better person and a better basketball player.
He has to believe this, because if he didn't he would have surely jumped off this roller coaster a long time ago. He would be working in construction somewhere on Long Island. Or holding down a desk job in the city. He would not be back at Gampel Pavilion, practicing with his teammates and talking about how sweet it would be to lead the No. 2-ranked Huskies to the Final Four.
"There's some guys out there that never have anything negative happen,"
Price said. "My road has been a lot different. I think I've shown again and again that I can bounce back from adversity."
